About Safa and Marwa

Safa and Marwa are two small hills within the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, and the walk between them, known as Sa'i, is one of the key rites of Umrah and Hajj. The ritual remembers the faith and perseverance of Hajar (Hagar), who ran between the two hills searching for water for her son Ismail عليه السلام, until Allah blessed them with the spring of Zamzam. In one visit you can complete Sa'i, drink Zamzam water, pray in the Grand Mosque and reflect on one of the most inspiring stories in Islamic history.

About the Visit

For Pakistani travellers, Sa'i is part of the Umrah journey that many look forward to for years. The walkway, called the Mas'a, is covered, air-conditioned and has multiple levels, with separate lanes for wheelchairs, so it is manageable for most travellers, including families and elders. Hotels near the Haram, easy transfers from Jeddah and Urdu-speaking staff and fellow pilgrims make the experience smoother.

The most popular route is the classic combination of Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, covering Tawaf, Sa'i and prayers at both holy mosques in one itinerary. If you have more time, you can add Ziyarat tours of Makkah, Jabal al-Noor and the Cave of Hira, Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina, or extra days of worship at the Haram.
