About Jannat al-Baqi

Jannat al-Baqi, also known as Al-Baqi, is the main cemetery of Madinah and the resting place of many members of the Prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم family and many of his companions. It lies right beside Masjid an-Nabawi, just a few minutes' walk from the mosque and the Green Dome, which makes it easy to include in any visit to Madinah.

Among those buried here are the Prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم son Ibrahim, several of his wives and daughters, and many companions including Uthman ibn Affan رضي الله عنه. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to visit the graves here and pray for those buried in them. Many pilgrims visit to remember the Hereafter and to make dua for the righteous.
