About Swat

Swat Valley is one of the most loved destinations in northern Pakistan, where green meadows, rushing rivers, apple orchards and snow-capped peaks come together in a single scenic valley. The journey usually begins from Islamabad towards Swat Motorway, Chakdara and Mingora, the main city and gateway to the valley. From here, the road follows the Swat River upward, with small bazaars, riverside hotels and fruit orchards along the way. A short stop at Fizagat Park and Madyan is a popular break for fresh trout and river views.

Further ahead, the valley opens up at Bahrain and Kalam, the heart of any trip here. Bahrain is a lively riverside town with local markets and cozy hotels. Nearby, Malam Jabba offers a ski resort, chairlift and pine-covered hills, while Kalam leads to even more spectacular scenery. From Kalam, a jeep ride takes you to Mahodand Lake, Ushu Forest and Spin Khwar, where deodar trees, clear streams and alpine meadows create an unforgettable setting. Adventurous travelers can also head toward Gabral Valley and Shahi Bagh, for a quieter and more peaceful side of the region.
