About Mahodand Lake

Set high in the mountains above Kalam, Mahodand Lake is one of the most popular alpine lakes in northern Pakistan. Its clear water is surrounded by green meadows, deodar forest and snow-dusted peaks, and the lake changes color through the day, from deep blue in the morning to soft green in the afternoon.

The journey is part of the experience. A long jeep ride follows the river through Ushu Forest and past small villages and streams, with the scenery getting wilder and more beautiful the higher you go. The lake is not reached by ordinary cars.
