Qasr Al Watan stands in Abu Dhabi's Ras Al Akhdar district, a pale granite palace crowned by a white dome and framed by gardens, opened to visitors in 2019. It looks soft cream by day, and at night light and music turn the facade into a stage with the Palace in Motion show.
It is a working presidential palace used for official state functions, which is why its hours can change at short notice. Visitors walk through grand halls decorated with Arabic calligraphy, Islamic geometry and gold, including the Great Hall under its huge white dome, the House of Knowledge with its library and Emirati cultural treasures, and the Spirit of Collaboration hall, known for its grand chandelier.
Ticket prices start from about AED 65 for adults, including the light show. It suits families, couples, groups, culture lovers and photographers, for a visit of 2 to 3 hours plus the evening show.
Note that re-entry is not usually allowed once you leave on the same ticket, and some areas may close at short notice as it remains a working palace for state events.
