Yas Waterworld sits on Yas Island, a bright, colourful park built around the legend of a young girl and a lost pearl. Slides twist through rock towers and palm-lined courtyards, with cool water in almost every direction.
It opened in 2013 with more than 40 slides, rides and attractions, and a recent expansion called the Lost City has pushed the total past 60 experiences. Its theme celebrates the UAE's pearl-diving heritage, so even the queues tell a story. Headline rides include Dawwama, a giant hydromagnetic tornado waterslide, Liwa Loop, the Middle East's first looping waterslide, and Bandit Bomber, a 550 m water coaster where other guests can fire water cannons at riders.
Adult tickets start from about AED 295, and the park suits families, couples, groups, thrill seekers and children for a half day to a full day visit. Some days are set aside as ladies days, and hours change by season.
Some rides close for maintenance and some may pause during Ramadan, so it's worth checking what's open on the day, and minimum height limits apply on rides like Liwa Loop (120 cm).
Fly from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad or another major city to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, or fly to Dubai and drive about 1.5 hours. Check current UAE visa rules for your passport before booking.
Yas Island is about 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi airport and has hotels beside the parks, so many visitors stay there.
Drive about 30 minutes from downtown to Yas Island. Shuttles have run from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Show your ticket, collect your wristband, pick a locker and head for the big slides first.
