About Arang Kel

Perched on a high green plateau above the village of Kel, Arang Kel is one of the most beautiful and most talked-about places in Azad Kashmir. There are no highways here and no traffic. There are wooden cottages scattered across open meadows, pine forests on the slopes, and snow-capped peaks all around.

Getting to Arang Kel is part of the experience. Travelers cross the Neelum River by cable car, then climb through forest trails or ride a jeep along a rough track before the meadow opens up. When you arrive, you will understand why people call it "Kashmir's hidden paradise."

Local story

The Legend of Arang Kel

Local stories say Arang Kel is a place where fairies live, and that the meadow turns magical under the moon. Visitors often hear tales of lights and music on quiet nights. These stories have been passed down for generations and are a big part of the area's charm. Whether you believe them or not, the atmosphere at night (silent, cold, and full of stars) makes it easy to see where the legends began.
