About Keran

On the banks of the Neelum River, Keran is one of the most talked-about stops in Neelum Valley. The river here is narrow, and on the opposite bank lies the other side of Kashmir, close enough that you can see houses, fields and everyday life across the water.

That is what makes Keran unique. The setting is calm and green, with pine-covered hills, a rushing river and wooden houses, yet it carries a quiet reminder of the region's history and geography. Many travelers describe it as both beautiful and thought-provoking.

Keran is also a convenient and comfortable stop on the way to Sharda, Kel and Arang Kel, with hotels and guesthouses close to the river. Many tours stop here for lunch, a walk along the water or a night's stay.
