About Pir Chinasi

High above Muzaffarabad, Pir Chinasi is one of the most visited and most peaceful spots in Azad Kashmir. The hilltop is home to a well-known shrine, surrounded by cool pine forest and open viewpoints from where you can see the valley, the hills, and on clear days the layers of mountains fading into the distance.

What makes Pir Chinasi special is how easy it is to reach. You do not need to trek or carry much gear a winding drive takes you from the city heat to cool mountain air in about an hour. It is also a natural first stop for travelers heading into Neelum Valley, and many tours include it on Day 1 before reaching Muzaffarabad.

In summer the place offers relief from the heat and a calm escape from city noise. In winter, snowfall can turn the hilltop white and draw visitors from across the region.
