About Lake Saif-ul-Malook

Lake Saif-ul-Malook is one of the best-known lakes in Pakistan. Its clear, deep blue water sits in a high bowl beneath Malika Parbat, the tallest peak of the Kaghan Valley, and on calm mornings the snowy summit reflects almost perfectly on the surface. Snow patches often remain along the shore well into summer.

The lake is reached by a jeep ride from Naran along a rough, steep track, followed by a short walk to the shore. It is popular with families, couples and photographers, and many travelers describe it as the highlight of their Naran Kaghan trip.

Weather can change quickly, with sun, clouds and rain on the same day. It is much colder at the lake than in Naran, even in summer.
